2019 Angler of the Year
Congratulations to Jan Jamrog for capturing the 2019 Angler of the Year award. Jan finished with 36 points only 4 points ahead of hard charging Ben Ames. Tom Smith rounded out the top three with a final tournament surge by winning the Bonus Rockfish Tournament with a 8lb 7oz Rockfish. Stuart Mckenzie and Steve Hedgpeth finished in a tie for fourth place. It is Jan Jamrog’s 4th title.
Bonus Rockfish Tournament
Congratulations to Tom Smith for winning the Bonus Rockfish Tournament held during the first 3 weekends in December. The tournament was shortened by 3 days due to Small Craft Advisories (SCA). Tom weighed in an 8lb 7oz Rockfish on the final day of the tournament which not only gave him the tournament win but also propelled him from 5th into 3rd place in the Angler of the Year (AOY) contest passing Steve Hedgpeth and Stuart Mckenzie. Ben Ames finished 2nd in the tournament followed by Jan Jamrog and Earl Perotti. Smith, Ames, Jamrog and Perotti were the only 4 anglers to post fish in the tournament.
2019 Tournament Format Carries over to 2020.
The 3-weekend tournament format established in 2019 will continue without change in 2020. See tournament rules for specific details. The primary reason was to deal with the cancellations or reschedules due to SCAs. The new format would allow members to better plan their fishing trips.
